| Unless you've been told explicitly otherwise, the following settings should work for your email client. Assuming that your name is John Smith and your domain is example.com:
- Incoming mail server: mail.example.com
- Outgoing/SMTP server: mail.example.com
- Username: jsmith@example.com
- Password: <your password>
Important notes about WESS email services:
- Note that your email username is your entire email address. This is a little different than some other providers.
- WESS provides both POP3 and IMAP services for your mail retrieval pleasure. Click here for a short dissertation on the differences, pros and cons of POP3 and IMAP.
- Due to the spam/open-relay reduction software we use, you may occasionally receive a message similar to 'This domain is not in my list of allowed rcpthosts.' If this occurs, simply 'check' your mail before attempting to 'send' any pending messages in your outbox. This issue rarely arises in office settings or if your 'new mail check interval' is less than 15 minutes.
- A web-based interface is available to allow you to check your mail from any computer with a web browser -- simply point the browser to your mail server as listed above and log in with the same account information above.
